With the Rangers fans in the Transfer Tavern hoping the international break has afforded some of the club’s under-performing stars the chance to get their heads together, they have indeed been handed a boost.
While summer signing Carlos Pena has yet to fully prove his worth after joining the Gers over the course of the summer, reports from the Daily Record have at least hinted at a positive turn of events for the Mexican international.
They claim that the SFA will not punish the 27-year-old for an apparent elbow on Hamilton star Greg Docherty, said to have taken place during last Friday’s 1-4 away win at the SuperSeal Stadium, due to a reported lack of evidence.
Compliance officer Tony McGlennan is understood to have found it hard to truly punish Pena for use of excessive force due to the fact that Docherty appears to grab his arm, all major factors as to why the Mexico star hasn’t received any punishment.
It’s fair to say the local Light Blues here in the Tavern don’t care either way, they’re just happy he’s available.
Pena’s been let off the hook here, so it’s important he cracks on now and starts to perform.
