It was a good weekend for the Rangers fans here in the Transfer Tavern following the club’s 1-4 thumping win away at Hamilton on Friday night.
Indeed, while this season hasn’t had much to shout about so far, the punters propping up our bar were absolutely delighted about the performance over at the SuperSeal stadium to kick off the weekend.
So, reports from the Scottish Sun probably haven’t been as poorly received as they normally would.
They claim top brass at Ibrox are chasing a whopping £200k from Portuguese giants Benfica over a cancelled friendly between the two clubs. Caixinha and his men were reportedly due to fly out to Toronto on Tuesday morning, though the meeting is understood to have been cancelled after Benfica pulled out.
That leaves Rangers and their fans out of pocket after paying to jet to Canada, reportedly prompting Rangers to chase Elite Soccer Entertainment – who organised the friendly – for a £200k fee in order to cover everything.
As you can imagine, our resident Gers really do hope they get it sorted.
