Rangers have reached a verbal agreement with Liverpool to re-sign Ryan Kent on loan for a second season.
Football Insider report that Steven Gerrard has held extensive talks with Kent and the Reds about bringing the youngster back for a second season at the Ibrox, with Rangers now confident they are in a good position to get a deal done soon for the winger.
It is no secret that Rangers and Gerrard are keen on bringing Kent back to the Ibrox for a second season, with the Gers manager saying via the Scottish Sun: “The fans will be desperate for a Kent update but it’s complicated because he is a Liverpool player and Liverpool aren’t back yet.
“I’m sure Jurgen Klopp will want to see Ryan and where he’s at. We’ll go from there and we’ll respect Liverpool on that one. But I can assure everyone we are doing everything we can to try and get Ryan back.”
Indeed, it is understandable as to why the club, manager and fans are eager to see Kent return for season two at Rangers as the youngster enjoyed a successful loan spell with the Glaswegian side last season, being named the PFA Scotland’s Young Player of the Year as the attacker scored six goals and assisted another nine.
With Gerrard bringing in seven players so far this summer (per Transfermarkt), it is seemingly possible that the former Liverpool captain is looking to build a squad that can challenge Celtic for the title next season, and given how impressive Kent was last term for Rangers, this goal may be more realistic with the winger back amongst the squad.
Indeed, Kent certainly showed last season that he has what it takes to impress in Scotland.
Rangers fans, will Kent re-sign for another season? Let us know!
