Rangers will be hoping for a brilliant start to the new year as every week they seem to be losing ground on Celtic.
Steven Gerrard knows that his team need to start turning draws into wins if they want to catch up to the league leaders and their most hated rivals.
It will be a hard task to do so, that’s why investing during the January transfer window is absolutely essential in their quest to build as a club.
Alike Celtic, the Gers could find it beneficial to sign some new forwards, in order to improve their goal-scoring power and not be so reliant on one player, like Rangers are with Alfredo Morelos.
It could be a risk but a good one is it pays off – Rangers should look to recruit free agent Emmanuel Emenike to boost their firepower.
Emenike, (who is valued at £900k on Transfermarkt) is a goalscorer and despite not playing since the summer, could be a good addition for Rangers.
The 31-year-old has been all around the globe playing for a number of different teams and next on his list could be a move to Scotland.
Last season, the Nigerian’s time was spent playing for Greek side Olympiacos where he managed to score four times in ten appearances.
Not an outstanding record but further demonstrating his ability to score goals. With an impressive turn of pace, strength and an eye for goal, he could be a big handful for the Scottish Premiership defenders to deal with.
It wouldn’t be the world-beater fans hope for Rangers to sign but Emmanuel Emenike could do a fine job as part of a rotation system at Ibrox.
