Rangers: Fans agree with supporter’s tweet about potential cup success not making up for league failure - Rangers

Plenty of Rangers fans have been reacting to a tweet from fellow supporter Baz Bowski (@BazCast3k) in which he said that not even Scottish Cup success or a prolonged Europa League run would make up for failing to win the Premiership this season.

Steven Gerrard’s side could theoretically still win three trophies in the coming months but league success appears increasingly unlikely after Wednesday night’s defeat to Kilmarnock saw them fall 10 points behind the league leaders, who are on course for a ninth successive title.

The domestic cup would seem to offer them their best chance of silverware, with the ‘Gers into the quarter-finals of that competition, where they will face the Premiership’s current bottom club Hearts. They also resume their European campaign next Thursday when they face Braga in the Europa League round of 32, where victory would see them at least emulate their last 16 finish in the competition in 2011.

Despite still being in two knockout competitions, these Rangers fans agreed that second place in the Premiership would automatically mark the season as a failure, irrespective of whatever else happens:

Rangers fans, do you think a cup success would make up for the increasing likelihood of missing out on the league title this year? Have your say by commenting below!
