Rangers supporters have been in high spirits in recent times after seeing their side get their Europa League group stage campaign underway with a well-earned draw on Thursday night.
Steven Gerrard’s men went into their tricky-looking trip to Spanish outfit Villarreal off the back of thumping Dundee 4-0 in their most recent Scottish Premiership encounter, and thus full of confidence heading into their first European group stage match in eight years. And while the Light Blues were second-best for much of the clash at the Estadio de la Ceramica, they battled to earn a 2-2 draw from proceedings with goals from Scott Arfield and Kyle Lafferty cancelling out efforts from Carlos Bacca and Gerard Moreno for the La Liga club.
As such, there have been many thrilled Rangers fans up and down the country in recent times, several of whom have taken to Twitter to heap praise on young midfielder Glenn Middleton, which was stimulated by a post on the Four Lads Had a Dream Twitter account.

The 18-year-old began his senior career at Championship side Norwich City before making the move north of the border at the end of this year’s January transfer window, albeit he didn’t make his debut for the Gers into July in their Europa League qualifier against Shkupi.
Yet the midfielder has slowly but surely edged closer towards Gerrard’s first team, and played a key part off the bench in helping Rangers seal a 2-2 draw in Villarreal on Thursday night, which thus added to his first goal for the club in their 4-0 success over Dundee last weekend.
And the youngster’s excellent efforts in the last week or so has prompted quite a reaction from Rangers fans on Twitter, with several raving about the 18-year-old and thus predicting a very bright future for the midfielder…
