Rangers: Fans bemused as Ianis Hagi left on the bench for Bayer Leverkusen clash

Rangers fans were feeling bemused after Ianis Hagi was left on the bench for Rangers’ Europa League loss to Bayer Leverkusen.
The move did seem to be a strange one from head coach Steven Gerrard especially given the £4.5m-rated, as per Transfermarkt, ace’s contributions after arriving on loan in the January transfer window. Since moving to Ibrox, the youngster has scored three goals and assisted a further two despite having played just eight fixtures across all competitions.
The Turkish-born Romanian has already been a hero for the Glasgow outfit in the second-tier of European football after he scored a brace in the 3-2 win over Braga in the Round of 32. He’s been lauded by former Gers man Kris Boyd, who has claimed the attacker offers something different to the rest of his teammates (via Sky Sports). Supporters were bemused with the 21-year-old’s omission as they took to Twitter to react. Here are a selection of tweets:

🤔 Surely Hagi suited more to this game?

Surprised Hagi is on the bench. Need a big performance from the boys tonight, a advantage to take to Germany next week. #RangersFC #UEL #RFCB04 #RANB04 https://t.co/iXDsS6kfEs
