Rangers fans were calling for the Scottish Premiership season to become ‘null and void’ after they received an update on when the league will be completed.
In an interview following UEFA’s conference yesterday, the SFA’s chief executive Ian Maxwell dismissed a call from the governing body to complete all league fixtures by the 30th of June (via The Scottish Sun). Scottish football’s chief figure seemed to hit out at the institution as he explained in detail why rushing the players back could lead to injuries.
The situation is far from ideal and has caused a split between the two Old Firm rivals. Some are calling for the table-toppers to be named champions if the remainder of the campaign is cancelled, meanwhile, former Ibrox favourite Ally McCoist has voiced his displeasure over that potential occurrence.
