The summer 2019 transfer dealings of Rangers’ former Director of Football Mark Allen came under question from ‘Gers supporter @BMCRangersRants on Twitter, pointing to several arrivals who have failed to make much of an impact at Ibrox.
Mark Allen scattergun approach in the summer really hasn’t helped us just now.
Barker (£10k a week 😩)
A lot wages there and how much has any of them contributed?

Jake Hastie, Jordan Jones, Brandon Barker, Andy King and Greg Stewart were all name-checked by @BMCRangersRants, with the quintet making a total of 46 appearances between them and accumulating a combined 1,637 minutes of game-time. To put that in context, the squad’s most-used player Connor Goldson has made 38 appearances and played for 3,420 minutes this season (all figures correct prior to Wednesday’s clash v Ross County).
King has already seen his loan from Leicester cut short while Hastie was on loan at Rotherham and, as reported by the Daily Record, Steven Gerrard hopes to offload Jones and Barker before the end of the January transfer window.
However, plenty of Rangers fans replied to @BMCRangersRants in defence of Stewart, who despite getting just 538 minutes of action for the club has still managed to score three goals and provide four assists. Here is some of the reaction from supporters sticking up for the 29-year-old:
Also, not a single transfer fee paid though, worth a punt imo esp Jones, Hastie (long term prospect) and King. Stewart has never let us down on the rare occasions he’s been called upon either.

Stewart will prove good long term , probably Hastie also.

Harsh on Stewart been a decent low wage signing and squad player rest I agree with compete waste of money

Stewart has been fantastic but punted behind Ojo!? Go figure

I think Stewart has looked good when called upon. Hastie a future talent. Jones looked good on occasion but has been injured mostly. King and Barker were absolutely pointless.

Stewart has done no bad considering hes not played alot and has chipped in a few goals when he has

Do you think Stewart has done well when called upon at Rangers? Would it be harsh to consider him a flop at Ibrox? Comment below with your views!
