Rangers: Fans delighted with the departure of Eros Grezda - Rangers

The Daily Record reported on Monday that winger Eros Grezda has left Rangers to rejoin former club Osijek on a permanent deal.

The Albania international came to Ibrox in August 2018 but failed to establish himself in Glasgow, making just 17 first team appearances altogether and none for Steven Gerrard’s side this season.

His only two goals for the club both came in a 7-1 thrashing of Motherwell in November 2018 (as per TransferMarkt).

His only involvement over the last few months has been in the Scottish Challenge Cup and an incident in that competition effectively sealed his fate at the club.

As reported by Belfast Live, Grezda allegedly spat at Ballymena United’s Andrew Burns during the Rangers reserves’ win in Northern Ireland in September.

Gerrard was livid after that incident, saying that the 24-year-old would not play for the club again (as per Daily Express) and sticking by those comments with his repeated omission of the Albanian from the first team.

These Rangers fans took to Twitter to express their delight at Grezda’s departure from Ibrox, with one lauding sporting director Ross Wilson over the transfer:

Are you happy to see Grezda being sold by Rangers? Did you expect more from him at the time of his arrival in 2018? Comment below with your views!
