With no football currently being played, a number of Rangers fans were left in awe at footage that was shared from the archives on Friday afternoon.
The goal came in Rangers’ 2-0 victory over Borussia Dortmund at Ibrox in the 1999 UEFA Cup and gave them the advantage of progressing to the next round of the tournament (as per 11v11). However, that tie would ultimately end in disappointment as the return leg saw the Scottish side dumped out of the competition in Germany via penalties (11v11).
Nonetheless, what was perhaps impressive about Wallace’s goal was the fact that the Light Blues had managed to put together a string of 20 passes before the Englishman rifled the ball past Jens Lehmann, as per the footage on Twitter.
Indeed, a number of fans could not help but notice the play between the whole team and left many of them with desires of witnessing it with the current crop of stars they have available to them.
Here are what just a few of the Rangers faithful had to say about the footage…
A work of art👌🏻🔴⚪️🔵
