Several Rangers fans were discussing Nikica Jelavic after the club posted his winning goal from the 2011 Scottish League Cup final.
Nine years ago, the £180k-rated, as per Transfermarkt, Croatian popped up early-on in extra-time to score the winning goal against their Old Firm rivals (via Rangers). The former Ibrox favourite was on hand to slot the ball past the ‘keeper after some sharp thinking from Vladimir Weiss, who had taken a quick free-kick.
It was just one of a number of goals the 6 foot 2 centre-forward notched up against the Glasgow outfit during his playing career. Overall, the 34-year-old scored five times against Celtic for two different clubs. He had a pretty even record against the team, winning two and losing two of his eight games across all competitions for Gers and Rapid Vienna.
Supporters remembered the anniversary with fondness as they took to Twitter to react to the clip. Here is a selection of tweets:

Always think the ball from Weiss doesn’t get enough credit. Quick thinking and perfectly weighted.
