Rangers: Fans fume at Scott Arfield’s display in League Cup final defeat to Celtic

Some Rangers fans have been left furious by the display of Scott Arfield in Sunday’s League Cup final defeat to Celtic.
The Gers were the better team in Sunday’s 1-0 defeat to their arch-rivals, but they simply didn’t have the clinical edge of big game prowess needed to kill off the tie.
Indeed, Steven Gerrard’s side had seven shots on target to just one from Celtic, per BBC Sport, but couldn’t get past the great wall of Fraser Forster.
While plenty of Gers players will feel at fault for missing chances, perhaps none more so than golden boy Alfredo Morelos, it is Arfield who is taking the most stick from fans.
Perhaps it is because he is one of the more experienced players in the squad or perhaps it is due to fans missing Steven Davis, but plenty have taken their frustrations out on the 19-cap Canada international.
Take a look at some of the best Twitter reactions down below…
How Arfield is still on is a joke, haven’t heard his name mentioned all game.

How Kent and Arfield finished that match is beyond me.

@RangersFC absolutely woeful. Arfield, Barker and Barisic needs to go no impact whatsoever. We are treading water and the hype around Gerrard just papers over the cracks.

Shows you about opinions. I thought Aribo was decent, Morelos always dangerous but unlucky at times and rash at others. Arfield awful for me, barker very strange choice. We battered them but their keeper was goram esq

Dont get the tactical switch when they went to 10. Seemed to loose all width down the right. Game was tailor made for stewart and his ability to find space. Arfield was awful the longer the game went

all jokes aside, want to know who is a terrible player? Scott Arfield.
