Loads of Rangers fans are unhappy with the news that they will travel to Hamilton in the next round of the FA Cup, and it’s not down to the opponent.
Indeed, the Gers have won their last six matches against Hamilton so they have nothing to fear as far as the game itself is concerned, but fans are furious about the potential for injuries on the Accies’ artificial pitch.
Steven Gerrard’s men coasted through their clash with Stranraer FC on Friday evening, winning 2-0 courtesy of goals from Scott Arfield and Jermain Defoe, but a trip to South Lanarkshire certainly gives fans a reason to worry. Back in August 2018, Jamie Murphy injured his ACL on Kilmarnock’s 4G surface, leading Gerrard to complain about the pitch.
Murphy has barely been seen since, racking up just two appearances so far this season, totalling only 53 minutes of first-team action, per Transfermarkt. Plenty of fans have been sharing their concerns on Twitter, as you can see in the comments down below…
