Rangers fans have a lot to make of Radamel Falcao’s comments

Alfredo Morelos certainly divides opinion amongst Rangers fans. Indeed, the Colombian marksman has proved prolific on his day and reported interest over the course of the summer led the Gers to reward him with a new contract, though he doesn’t always look convincing.

The 22-year-old has suffered a number of high profile misses during his year and a bit in Glasgow thus far, including the famous sitter against Celtic. Clearly, the ‘El Buffalo’ as he affectionally known shouldn’t be defined by those gaffes – his record of 24 goals in 56 games thus far proves that – though he did fail to finish another easy chance while away with the Colombian national team.

However, despite his miss for La Tricolor, it seems Morelos still has the backing of his countrymen. Indeed, Radamel Falcao, the nation’s record goalscorer, actually backed the Rangers man to star for the South Americans for years to come.

“When you look at attitude he has and commitment he shows, he’s ready to get to the top. He could be a big player for Colombia for years to come”, he said with quotes sourced by the Daily Record.

“I liked his work rate and he’s willing to learn. There’s a lot to like when you look at the kids coming though.

“He’s already playing for his country at such a young age and it’s clear he will be a regular for years to come.”

As you can imagine, this prompted quite the reaction online. Here’s a closer look at it.
