Plenty of Rangers fans on Twitter were delighted with the performance of Glen Kamara in last night’s 1-1 draw against Young Boys, a result which took the ‘Gers into the knockout stages of the Europa League.
Who should Rangers' penalty taker be?
The 24-year-old defensive midfielder was a cut-price £50,000 signing from Dundee (as per BBC) back in January, but he has grown into a valued member of Steven Gerrard’s squad, starting all six of their Europa League group games and already clocking up 41 appearances for the club.
The Finland international made the joint-most interceptions of any Rangers player last night with four and also had the second highest passing success rate among the Light Blues’ line-up with 84.4% (eclipsed very narrowly by Ryan Jack’s 84.6%) as he found a team-mate with 38 of his 45 passes. David McCarthy of the Daily Record praised Kamara’s performance in his player ratings, giving him a seven and describing his display as “quick and slick”, adding that he “linked the play expertly”.
