The draw for the play-off round of the UEFA Youth League took place yesterday, with Graeme Murty’s Rangers side handed a tie against Atletico Madrid.
As noted by rangers.co.uk, the ‘Gers will have home advantage against the Spanish outfit, with the one-leg tie due to be played on February 11th or 12th in Glasgow.
Rangers’ young charges have reached this phase of the competition after overcoming two rounds in the Domestic Champions path, eliminating Young Boys (just as the first team did in the Europa League last week) and Slovan Bratislava. The Spanish side came second in their group to enter the play-off round from the Champions League path.
However, these Rangers fans on Twitter are hoping that the tie will be staged in the club’s Ibrox venue:
Rangers vs Atletico Madrid in the youth league should be great. Hopefully we can get another decent crowd at Ibrox/Firhill for it
