Rangers: Fans lash out after Billy Gilmour is left out of Scotland’s senior squad

Rangers fans have been lashing out at the decision to leave out ex-player Billy Gilmour from Scotland’s senior squad for the Euro 2020 playoff game against Israel this month.
It was confirmed that the 18-year-old, who left Ibrox in 2017, will be part of the under-21s side that will take on Croatia and Greece in their upcoming international fixtures. However, there are reports from the Daily Record claiming that manager Steve Clarke is still considering the player for the important tie against their fellow European nation.
Gilmour has enjoyed a brilliant week with Chelsea after he completed 90 minutes and was named man of the match for the victories over Liverpool and Everton. The Scotland under-21 international was lauded by former Manchester United midfielder Roy Keane, who claimed he looked like a ‘world-class’ player during the fixture against the Blue half of Merseyside. Supporters were left lambasting the decision to not call up the youngster as they took to Twitter to react, with one describing the Scottish national team as ‘clowns‘. Here are a selection of tweets:
