Rangers: Fans lash out after Steven Gerrard’s late substitution

Some Rangers fans were left lashing out after Alfredo Morelos made way for a defender late on during their narrow win over Ross County.
It seems as though the supporters weren’t big fans of Steven Gerrard’s decision to replace the striker with central defender Nikola Katic in the 89th-minute of their victory. The move was dubbed as ’embarrassing’ by this one fan, who clearly thought it was a backwards move.
Embarrassing.

Rangers were pretty underwhelming during the encounter with the bottom-half side as they had Allan McGregor to thank for keeping out their opponents (via BBC). Gerrard was under no illusions over his team’s performance against the Staggies as he claimed his side needs to ‘find higher levels’ and claimed they’ve performed better earlier in the campaign. Despite the win, the Gers sit a mammoth 13 points behind city-rivals Celtic, however, they do have a game in hand.
Supporters were not best pleased with the change late on yesterday as they took to Twitter to lambaste the move. Let’s take a look at some tweets:
