Rangers: Fans laud under-17 side after dramatic 4-4 draw in Alkass Cup - Rangers

Rangers’ under-17 side were involved in a dramatic eight-goal thriller in the Alkass Cup on Monday, twice coming from two goals down to draw 4-4 against the Aspire Academy.

The ‘Gers won the international youth tournament in Qatar last year and began the 2020 edition with a 3-2 win over South Korea’s Suwon Samsung on Saturday before the dramatic encounter against the team from the host nation.

Rangers fell two goals behind to Aspire Academy early on but opened their scoring account in some style through Charlie Lindsay’s spectacular free kick. The captain later netted his second goal of the game to again halve his team’s disadvantage and pull it back to 4-3 before also playing his part in the late equaliser, with a neat flick in the build-up to Rory Wilson’s goal. It has been a memorable few days for Lindsay in Qatar, whose all-action performance on Monday came after he scored the stoppage time winner in their previous game two days earlier.
