Lots of Rangers fans have been reacting to a message from Ruud Gullit, who honoured the anniversary of the passing of Davie Cooper on Monday.
Monday marked 25 years since the Gers lost a treasured member of the Ibrox family in Cooper, who passed away at the age of 39 due to a brain haemorrhage (BBC). The club of course paid tribute to the legendary winger on social media with a series of posts and videos, but it seems none were appreciated more by the fans than the message from Gullit.
The Dutch legend played with and against some of the world’s finest players throughout his career, but revealed Cooper was right up there with the best of the best, purring over the winger’s magical left-foot in a video shared on the club’s Twitter account.
Cooper scored perhaps the Gers’ greatest ever goal in the 1979 Drybrough Cup Final, and fans have taken to Twitter to celebrate their former hero’s career in response to the message from Gullit…
Superb words 👏🏻

A legend praising another legend. Can’t get more praise than that. Super Cooper was my favourite player of all time and I can still feel today how gutted I was 25 years ago. A legend and a gentleman.
