Rangers fans on social media have bee loving the fact that they’re linked to Millwall’s dominant centre-back, Jake Cooper. The six-foot-five defender is a man mountain and would be an intimidating figure to come against at Ibrox if he was to sign, which he could well do if this tweet from reliable twitter account, The Rangers Observer is anything to go by.
Rangers have put in an improved bid for Jake Cooper of Millwall. He will be Steven Gerrard’s 10th signing if a deal is agreed. pic.twitter.com/PUiJamYBka

Steven Gerrard has obviously made improving his defence one of the main priorities this summer. The ex-Liverpool and England captain has signed both Nikola Katic and Conor Goldson for the heart of his defence at Ibrox whilst also adding former teammate, Jon Flanagan to the club’s squad to play at full-back for the Gers. This would make Cooper the club’s 4th defender that they’ve signed this window and 10th overall.
The new-look Rangers side will be an interesting one to watch when they take to the pitch in their first competitive game of the new season tomorrow against Macedonian outfit, FK Shkupi in their Europa League first-round qualifier. There’s no way that Cooper would be able to sign and play tomorrow but he could well be on his way to becoming a Bluenose and the fans could be lucky enough to see him in a Rangers shirt for their second qualifying round if they’re to get past Shkupi tonight and next Tuesday.
You can see the fans tweets about Cooper here:
I think the player may have to force the issue as Millwall seem very reluctant to sell.

If he is half as good as the last Cooper he will do for me

If the price tag is true he’d surly be a starter?.

I’m loving the signings so far but would love to see some more attacking players signed

From the tweets above you can see that the Gers are keen to get Cooper on-board as they plan for a long, successful season.
