Rangers: Fans pleased to see three Academy prospects join Orange County SC on loan - Rangers

Rangers confirmed on their official website rangers.co.uk on Monday that three young talents from the club’s Academy have joined California-based outfit Orange County Soccer Club on loan for the 2020 season, with the news also shared on Twitter via @RangersFC and @orangecountysc.

Cammy Palmer, Danny Finlayson and Matthew Shiels will all play for the American club in the upcoming United Soccer League Championship season, the second tier of the USA football pyramid beneath Major League Soccer. Rangers and Orange County SC announced the formation of a strategic partnership in December which is intended to give some of the Ibrox club’s Academy prospects a chance to gain first team experience in California (as per rangers.co.uk).

Midfielder Palmer had a loan spell at Partick Thistle in the first half of the 2019/20 season, scoring once in 20 games, while fellow Northern Ireland youngster Finlayson featured regularly in the Light Blues’ UEFA Youth League campaign. Left-back Shiels made nine appearances for Dumbarton during a loan spell in the concluding months of 2019.

These Rangers fans on Twitter are pleased to see the young trio getting an opportunity to play in the U.S. for the next few months:
