Plenty of Rangers fans were reminiscing about the club’s former striker Michael Mols after a clip of him in action was posted on social media, with one ‘Gers fan calling him “a joy to watch“.
Rangers supporter @Pena_Cartel on Twitter shared a short clip of the Dutch attacker from his Ibrox days as he left an opposition defender for dead by turning past him coolly before drilling a low shot past the goalkeeper and into the net.

That was one of 48 goals that he scored in his five years at the club between 1999 and 2004 in 147 appearances for the Light Blues (as per Soccerbase), with whom he won two Premiership titles, three Scottish Cups and two Scottish League Cups. Among his highlights in a Rangers shirt are the brace he netted in a 4-1 Champions League win over PSV Eindhoven and the day that he stuck four goals past Motherwell (as per BBC). Sadly, his Ibrox career was overshadowed by a horrific long-term injury he suffered against Bayern Munich in November 1999.
These Rangers fans on Twitter fondly recalled Mols at his best after seeing the clip from @Pena_Cartel:
A thing of beauty!🔴⚪🔵

Such a shame we only had him at his best until the Munich game. He was always a joy to watch.
