Rangers fans react to Ryan Kent’s performance against Villarreal

Rangers supporters have been very satisfied in recent times after seeing their side begin their Europa League group stage campaign with a hard-fought draw on Thursday night.

Steven Gerrard’s men produced a fine run to get through three qualifying rounds and then a play-off tie against Ufa to reach the group stages, but faced a tricky trip to Villarreal on Thursday to begin their Group G campaign. And the Light Blues had to twice come from behind against the La Liga outfit, with goals from Scott Arfield and Kyle Lafferty cancelling out efforts from Carlos Bacca and Gerard Moreno to secure the Gers a 2-2 draw from their trip to the Estadio de la Ceramica.

Thus, there have been many buoyant Rangers fans up and down the country in recent times, although several took to Twitter during the game to express their views on proceedings, with Ryan Kent coming in for much criticism for his performance.

The young winger made the move to Ibrox during the summer on loan from Premier League giants Liverpool, and managed one goal and one assist in his 11 appearances in all competitions prior to Thursday’s clash against Villarreal.

Yet the 21-year-old produced a pretty lacklustre performance against the Spanish side and failed to really carry an attacking threat for Gerrard’s side, which thus prompted many Gers fans to take to Twitter to express their disappointment with the Englishman’s exploits…
