Rangers: Fans remember Pedro Mendes’ strike against Old Firm rivals

Some Rangers fans were remembering Pedro Mendes’ strike against their Old Firm rivals Celtic after a post by the club.
In a post on Twitter, the club tweeted the long-range effort from the former Portuguese midfielder, which was just one of the goals during a 4-2 thrashing back in August 2008. A teammate pulled a corner-kick back to the edge of the box before the ex-Ibrox favourite unleashed a stunning first-time strike to the left of a despairing Artur Boruc (via Rangers).
One fan called the strike a ‘peach’, whilst another labelled the moment ‘happy times’.

It was the only goal Mendes ever scored in games against the Bhoys, but he enjoyed a brilliant overall record against Celtic as he won three out of the five games he featured in (via Transfermarkt). All in all, the former Portugal international had a trophy-laden career with the Gers as he won four major honours during his one-and-a-half seasons with the club.
Loads of supporters remembered his long-range strike with fondness as they took to Twitter to react to the clip. Here are some tweets:
