Rangers’ 3-1 victory over Hamilton on Sunday made sure they kept pace with their city rivals at the top of the table. The performance didn’t please the fans, but it was another important three points before they switch their focus back to the Europa League on Thursday.
The goal they conceded was the first to hit their net since they played Motherwell in October, and it was that equaliser that prevented the afternoon from becoming a walk-over and turned it into a struggle. Rangers News only rated Ryan Jack and Ryan Kent ratings of over 7/10 in what they described as a “scrappy” win. Apart from Kent scoring his first two goals of the season, there wasn’t much to shout about for the travelling Rangers faithful.
The club’s official Twitter account posted the full-time score and it was clear most Gers fans had the same thoughts. They were far from impressed by the quality of football Steven Gerrard’s side played, but they were happy to take the points anyway, as they look to mount a title challenge.
