Kris Commons has delivered his verdict on Rangers’ recently appointed director of football, Ross Wilson, by claiming his record as “ropey” in quotes relayed by The Scottish Sun.
Wilson has arrived at Rangers after the sudden departure of Mark Allen earlier in the season. The Southampton supremo had been a target prior to Allen’s appointment but decided to stay with the Premier League club.
Commons has based his opinion on Southampton dropping from 8th to 17th over the last couple of seasons, after a raft of player sales and managerial changes since the summer of 2014. Indeed, he also claims that the Saints have “splashed the cash” recently considering the signings of players such as Guido Carrillo and Danny Ings, breaking the club’s transfer record on two occasions.
Still, Rangers fans took to Twitter to chastise Commons’ decision to immediately criticise the new Sporting Director and what could possibly have been behind his motivations in making such a statement.
I don’t think Kris Commons can call anyone’s transfer record ropey until he finds the person responsible for the £6m outlay on Taylor & Bolingoli.

Kris Commons court’s controversy, simple as that, he’s mediocre in the media to be honest. Suppose he’s venturing down the Chris Sutton route and needs to keep a roof over his families head…
