Rangers: Fans slate team’s performance despite return to winning ways against Livingston

Rangers returned to winning ways on Sunday as Scott Arfield’s 59th-minute goal was enough to give them all three points at home to Livingston, as per @RangersFC on Twitter. Despite seeing their team claim victory, though, many ‘Gers fans were far from happy with what Steven Gerrard’s side produced.

The Light Blues came into the match, which was rearranged after being postponed due to a waterlogged Ibrox pitch on Saturday, off the back of a defeat at Kilmarnock and trailed league leaders Celtic by 13 points at kick-off, with the Hoops beating Aberdeen earlier in the day. Rangers found visiting goalkeeper Ryan Schofield a tough nut to crack before Arfield eventually found a route to goal on the verge of the hour mark, not long after Allan McGregor was forced into a fine reaction save to deny Aymen Souda at the other end. Livingston pushed hard for an equaliser in the closing stages, with Lyndon Dykes thumping a volley off the post, and the ‘Gers ultimately fell over the line despite having two late goals disallowed for offside (as per BBC). These Rangers fans on Twitter seemed more annoyed with the performance level from their team rather than pleased with the result, with one supporter calling for Gerrard’s departure:
That was utterly disgraceful performance. We are well and truly back in the banter years. Caixinha is out there in a better league winning a trophy and we are here going nowhere. I’m embarrassed today. Gerrard must leave, he is a dreadful, arrogant manager. Anyone would be better

Will take the win but need to improve

Only positive to take from that is 3 pints otherwise dreadful performance

A win is a win and I’m glad of it but since the return of the winter break I’ve been on the edge of my seat and it shouldn’t be that way
