Rangers: Fans take issue with Chris Jack article on Light Blues’ fortunes this season - Rangers

A number of Rangers fans have voiced their dissent with an article written in the Glasgow Times by Chris Jack, who duly shared it on his Twitter profile @Chris_Jack89.

Although the journalist argued that several contentious refereeing decisions have gone against Steven Gerrard’s team this season, he feels that the manager and his players must ultimately be honest with themselves if they fall short in the Premiership title race – a likely outcome given that they trail Celtic by 10 points with just a third of the season remaining.

The Rangers boss vented his fury with referee Euan Anderson after his team’s 1-0 win on Sunday, insisting that Alfredo Morelos’ goal should not have been disallowed for offside and that a penalty should have been given for a Ciaron Brown handball in the box (as per Daily Record).

After their previous game against Kilmarnock, many Rangers fans fumed at referee John Beaton over decisions such as disallowing a Morelos goal for an apparent push on Stuart Findlay, an unsuccessful handball claim in the build-up to Killie’s equaliser and a booking for Ryan Kent after he reacted to a challenge from Alan Power.

Their Betfred Cup final defeat to Celtic in December was also overshadowed by controversy as Christopher Jullien appeared to be in an offside position when he scored the only goal of the match (as per The Scottish Sun).

These ‘Gers fans on Twitter seem to have had enough of perceived injustices from officials and expressed their disagreement with Jack’s article:

Is Jack right in saying that Rangers must look at themselves if they fail to win the league or have the officials genuinely cost them several points this season? Have your say by commenting below!
