Rangers: Fans take issue with Hugh Keevins’ comments on League Cup final

Plenty of Rangers fans were left fuming over comments made by Hugh Keevins on Clyde 1 Superscoreboard after Sunday’s Betfred Cup final.

Speaking on the radio show after the match [via @ClydeSSB], he said that Steven Gerrard’s side only had themselves to blame for their defeat, despite the controversial nature of the decisive goal at Hampden Park.

Celtic defender Christopher Jullien appeared to be in an offside position when he struck the only goal of the game on the hour mark, but none of the officials signalled for an infringement. [via BBC]

Rangers dominated the game for large spells, having 16 shots to the Hoops’ five, but they were unable to find a way past Fraser Forster, who saved a 64th-minute penalty from Alfredo Morelos. [via BBC]

Jeremie Frimpong was sent off in the incident which led to that spot kick, leaving the ‘Gers with a one-man advantage for almost half an hour. [via BBC]
