Rangers winger Ryan Kent came under fire from a number of the club’s supporters following his performance at Ibrox on Sunday.
The former Liverpool man started for the 15th Premiership game in succession against Livingston but was the first ‘Gers player to be hooked by Steven Gerrard, having been replaced by Florian Kamberi in the 56th minute with the teams level at 0-0 shortly before Scott Arfield scored the only goal of the afternoon (as per BBC).
Kent is now without a goal in five league matches and still hasn’t provided an assist in the Premiership all season. He had a couple of chances on Sunday to break his scoring duck, curling a first-half effort narrowly wide and drawing a good save from the visitors’ goalkeeper Ryan Schofield just before he was substituted (as per BBC).
The 23-year-old received some unfavourable reviews from reporters after the match, with James Black of Rangers News saying that he “flitted in and out of the game as he struggled to really make an impact”. The 4th Official writer Abhinab Ghosh felt that the winger “put in a lacklustre display” at Ibrox.
Has Ryan Kent looked anywhere near worth £7m?
These ‘Gers fans on Twitter were also critical of Kent’s performance against Livingston, with one supporter dismissing him as “Barrie McKay version 2” in a seemingly unflattering reference to the ex-Light Blues winger let go by Pedro Caixinha in 2017:
Ryan Kent is a player needing dropped. Terrible use of the ball and was pretty much anonymous today again.

Ryan Kent should be removed from the senior team. I ho estly believe he doesn’t want to play by watching him. Kai Kennedy should be used in his slot. Its actually unbelievable how bad we are, so much so that halliday was the most dangerous player for us

Maybe that will be a kick up the backside for Ryan Kent…..
