Rangers: Fans were fuming after seeing footage of Alfredo Morelos’ disallowed goal against Kilmarnock

A number of Rangers fans reacted angrily to a clip shared on Twitter by ‘Gers supporter @Pena_Cartel showing Alfredo Morelos’ disallowed goal from Wednesday night.

With the Light Blues drawing 1-1 against Kilmarnock going into the 87th minute, the Colombian striker got his head to a James Tavernier cross and nodded the ball past the home side’s goalkeeper Jan Koprivec, only for the goal to be ruled out because Morelos was adjudged to have pushed Stuart Findlay just before heading the ball.

The decision by John Beaton and his officials to chalk off the goal proved a pivotal one as, within a couple of minutes, Eamonn Brophy found the Rangers net to decide the match in Kilmarnock’s favour and consign Steven Gerrard’s team to their third league defeat of the season.

Morelos’ disallowed goal also means that he is still waiting to score in the Premiership in 2020, having netted 12 times in the league prior to the winter break as his barren streak in the top flight extended to five matches. [via TransferMarkt]

Unsurprisingly, these Rangers fans on Twitter were livid after seeing the clip of his disallowed goal, believing that the contact on Findlay was minimal:
