Graeme Murty’s Rangers academy team took on Slovan Bratislava in the second round of the UEFA Youth League at Firhill on Wednesday night looking to secure a positive result to take into the second-leg away from home.
After beating Young Boys on away goals with an aggregate score of 5-5, Rangers were looking to add defensive solidarity to their impressive attacking performances so far.
Will Alfredo Morelos finish the season a Rangers player?
The academy/colts side has been outstanding this season in knocking out Young Boys and reaching the quarter-finals of the Challenge Cup where it has been announced that they will play Wrexham at Ibrox giving them the platform that their form deserves.
Rangers controlled the game against Bratislava in a more comfortable fashion than the previous round, with Dapo Mebude and Nathan Young-Coombes netting in a 2-0 victory. Indeed, that clean sheet puts the young Gers in a commanding position going over to Slovakia.
Fans of the Ibrox club took to twitter to congratulate the youngsters as they continue to do them proud on the continent.
