Rangers fans in the Football Transfer Tavern are eagerly anticipating their return back to the Scottish Premiership and this good news will stand them in good stead heading into the summer.
Now, according to MailOnline, the Glasgow giants are looking to secure Mark Warburton’s future with an extended contract.
Although he has done a spectacular job at Ibrox, this news has come as a surprise to punters in the Tavern, considering he is only 12 months into his three-year deal, which signed last June.
It is expected that the negotiations over a new deal with stretch into the summer break as the club are licking their wounds from their Scottish Cup final defeat to Hibernian.
The former Brentford boss has seemed to have met his targets set by the board after gaining promotion, with an 11 point winning margin, as well winning the Petrofac Training Cup, which is a trophy the club haven’t won for three years.
Noted as a progressive and forward thinking coach, he has begun preparations in earnest ahead of life back in the top flight by signing the likes of Josh Windass, Jordan Rossiter and Joey Barton.
