Rangers are said to be interested in Atletico Madrid youngster Rodrigo Riquelme, as per Marca.
The starlet is highly-rated by Los Rojiblancos, but his future is now said to be up in the air.
He currently has a contract until 2021, and has a meeting planned with the club, but it is not certain that he will be at the Wanda Metropolitano next season. Along with Rangers, Celtic, Hoffenheim and Ajax are all believed to be in pursuit.
At the moment, Sheyi Ojo is the current right-winger for the Ibrox outfit, and although there have been some promising moments with five goals and seven assists in all competitions, it is unlikely that there will be any great push to sign him permanently from Liverpool when his loan spell is over.
Riquelme, although only 20, has already made an impression, scoring twice and providing four assists in seven UEFA Youth League matches to date this season. He has also appeared twice for the first team as well – he has even been compared to former Atleti ace Antoine Griezmann.
Would you like to sign Rodrigo Riquelme?
With a release clause of €30m (£26.1m), he does not initially look cheap, but considering his lack of experience to date, his price tag could be closer to his £2.07m Transfermarkt value. It remains to be seen whether Rangers are able to make their move, but a potential deal should have Ross Wilson bubbling with excitement.
