Rangers could have handed Warburton boost over £2m Ibrox star

With the season finally over for the Rangers fans in the Transfer Tavern, many of them are looking ahead to the summer.

The pressure is now for Pedro Caixinha at Ibrox. With both Celtic and Aberdeen finishing ahead of the Gers with relative ease, the punters propping up the bar are expecting big things next season.

So, with that in mind, they’re rather shocked to read reports from the Daily Record. While their suggestions of a major squad overhaul for the Light Blues come as little surprise, there’s one line that has sparked debate.

Barrie McKay is reportedly valued at just £2m by top brass atop the marble staircase amid links with Nottingham Forest. The 22-year-old has been touted as a potential target for former boss Mark Warburton at the City Ground, in what would be a controversial move within the Tavern.

The Scotsman is understood to have been valued at around £6m as recently as January and many of the Gers in the bar are surprised to see him valued so low.
