Rangers will be hoping that when the January transfer window comes around, they have the resources to equip their squad even further.
With the potential to still be playing in domestic games and European nights long into the season, the Gers will require a great deal of squad depth to get them through the amount of games they could potentially be facing.
Steven Gerrard will be viewing his squad and seeing what could be improved upon, with the players available in the January market.
One player who could well be available and do a sterling job for Rangers is Everton midfielder Beni Baningime.
Baningime, who is valued at £2.7 million on Transfermarkt, is yet to play a minute of first-team action due to injury this season but because of the extra quality the Toffees added in midfield, he should move to a team like Rangers in the hope of showcasing his true ability, rather than waiting for another chance at Goodison Park.
At 20-years-old, Baningime has time on his side to prove that his showings in the Premier League last season can be improved upon and that he could be a valuable player for anyone to have.
Whilst just getting back to full fitness, the midfielder will look back on last season with fond memories, of how he went on to make 12 appearances for the first-team, in what was his breakthrough season.
A dynamic, good passer like Beni Baningime cannot afford to be stuck in the Everton U23’s and with Rangers hoping to progress far in Europe and continue to battle domestically, another midfielder could be a position that Steven Gerrard looks to bring in.
