Rangers report: Ibrox chiefs holding talks

The Rangers fans in the Transfer Tavern aren’t quite sure on what to make of Pedro Caixinha’s start to a full season in charge.

While there have certainly been disappointments along the way, some of our local Light Blues believe the Portuguese just needs the time to get it right.

So, they’re not quite sure what to make of reports from the Daily Record. They claim the Glasgow giants are in talks with Benfica over the notion of a friendly over in Canada next month.

Indeed, the Portuguese side are understood to have asked Rangers if they’d take part in the Eusebio Cup, normally a pre-season event, though this time played at a later date.

Ibrox chiefs are said to be in talks with the Lisbon giants over a game that could reportedly take place at Tim Hortons Field in Hamilton, Ontario rather than the Portuguese capital.

Many of the punters in our bar would much rather Rangers focus on first-team affairs than looking for an expensive friendly, thought to be penciled in for October 6th.
