Rangers reportedly hoping for new arrival amid recent transfer agreement

Ahead of a huge clash against rivals Hibernian this weekend, the Rangers fans in the Transfer Tavern are hopeful of carrying on the momentum picked up from their opening day win over Motherwell.

Indeed, it’s unclear as to whether Pedro Caixinha’s overhaul at Ibrox will work in the long run, but at least they’re off to a winning start and reports from the Scottish Sun suggest he’s not quite done yet. They claim the Light Blues are set to immediately reinvest cash from selling Martyn Waghorn in TWO new additions.

Ipswich Town are understood to have a bid of around £1m accepted for the marksman and the Gers are reportedly eager to put that towards their pursuits of both Hearts star Jamie Walker and Aberdeen’s Kenny McLean.

Rangers are said to be confident they can land at least one of the duo, though have seen multiple bids snubbed for Walker and the Dons are thought to be adamant they won’t sell McLean.

Ryan Jack has already been brought over from Pittodrie and our resident Gers just hope one of the two arrives to bolster Caixinha’s attack for the new campaign.

Landlord’s Verdict:

Both McLean and Walker would help Rangers in attack. Indeed, Walker would be a very strong addition to the squad, adding pace to wide areas, while McLean would weaken a rival even more than Jack’s departure.

Selling Waghorn and landing one of the two – if not both – would be fantastic business for Rangers.
