Rangers should be ambitious and target £5.4m-rated Scottish goal machine this summer

The Rangers fans across the Transfer Tavern are hopeful that next season will be the year they finally catch up to fierce rivals Celtic at the top of Scottish football. For too long, the difference in class has been huge and the Gers have had enough…

Graeme Murty’s position as Rangers manager is far from certain at the moment with pressure building on the 43-year-old. This sparks even more uncertainty around Ibrox and fans simply want to resolve the situation by bringing in a new manager and new, inspired signings this summer.

A player that would add so much quality to Rangers is Sheffield Wednesday forward and Scottish international Jordan Rhodes, who is valued at £5.40 million on Transfermarkt. The 28-year-old has endured a rather average season given his usually high performances, scoring 7 goals in 31 outings. It is already double what he achieved last season but maybe what Rhodes needs is a move away from England, with Rangers providing the perfect opportunity for him to sign and be a hero for a team lacking confidence.

With the Gers currently 13 points adrift of Celtic, Jordan Rhodes and his goals would single-handedly reduce that gap drastically, our punters believe.

Landlord’s Verdict:

Jordan Rhodes was once one of the best players in the Championship and a move to a better Premier League team was always thought to be on the horizon. This hasn’t worked out and after more unsuccessful moves around the Championship, it’s time that Rangers should be ambitious and target a goalscorer who would massively improve their chances of success next year.
