Rangers have made an exceptional start to life under Steven Gerrard and the midfield ace is showing his immense credentials as a manager.
Not many would have predicted the incredible effect Steven Gerrard would have on this Rangers team but so far things are looking very good in regards to a chance at silverware come the end of the season.
The team are playing for each other and linking well but bringing back an old player to the club next summer would increase their quality on the pitch even more.
Steven Davis, who currently plays for Southampton, was a player for Rangers just over six years ago and since then he has been captain of the Saints as they’ve marched forward to successful times in the Premier League.
Davis, (who is valued at £3.6 million on Transfermarkt) who is out of contract in the summer, is a player that proves age is just a number as he continues to put in a tremendous shift for his club.
Rangers would be lucky to have someone like Steven Davis to turn to and with great leadership skills, he would fit right in with the Gers.
He has played just six minutes of Premier League football this season compared to the 23 Premier League appearances he made last season. During his time at Rangers, he played exactly 200 games and became a well loved player on and off the pitch.
The same could happen again if he came back to Ibrox and continued to give the maximum effort he is renown for doing on a match day.
Rangers don’t necessarily need to improve their starting line-up right now but with a player like Steven Davis returning, they could be bettered as a club in all aspects.
