Rangers

Rangers would be a lot stronger with the capture of tricky £2.7m-rated Sheffield Wednesday man

The summer transfer window will prove to be a massive time for Rangers as a club, will they remain in their fierce rivals’ shadow or will they attempt to catch up to Celtic with some new signings? The Rangers fans here at the Tavern certainly hope it’s the latter…

Rangers have been better in the Scottish Premiership but still they remain miles away from the league leaders Celtic. If they ever want to return to the summit of Scotland and have the bragging rights over bitter rivals Celtic, a big summer window will certainly contribute towards that.

A player that would really improve Rangers is Championship star Barry Bannan who is currently of Sheffield Wednesday. Valued at £2.70 million on Transfermarkt, Bannan is well experienced in the English leagues and could prove to be a smart addition from Rangers.

Bannan this season has appeared 24 times for Wednesday and the nimble midfielder has the potential to cause teams problems with his good ability of passing and shooting. This season’s statistics would argue that he hasn’t been great in the Championship, (1 goal and 2 assists) but our punters around the bar are keen to remember last season’s campaign where he was injury free and assisting his teammates on eight different occasions.

There is no question that Barry Bannan would make Rangers a stronger team and if the Gers can prize him away from a slow spell in the Championship, his career could be reformed back in his home country.

Thoughts Rangers fans – Would you like to see Barry Bannan at the club?
