Rangers would be smart to try and acquire Jan Bednarek

Rangers have continued their rollercoaster start to the season which has recently disappointedly ended their Scottish League Cup hopes.

Steven Gerrard has got the players working hard and playing well but consistency remains a big issue for the Gers.

If they want to achieve domestic and European success sooner rather than later, it is important for Rangers to hunt in the transfer market yet again.

Defensively they’re finding to have their biggest problems and with another top defender available to Steven Gerrard, he may just find success is a lot easier to come by.

Southampton’s Jan Bednarek is a player surplus to requirements at the club but seems to have a great future ahead of him – at the right club.

With him not being utilised enough at St Mary’s, Rangers must quickly swoop in for him.

Bednarek, who is valued at £4.5 million on Transfermarkt, is a top international defender that could be a tremendous addition at Ibrox.

Currently, out of sorts with Southampton, Rangers should test the South Coast side with an audacious bid for the centre-back in January.

The 22-year-old Polish star has played just 80 minutes in the Premier League this season, as well as two games in the EFL Cup.

Having last season only made five league appearances as well, his time at Southampton could come to an abrupt end if a team like Rangers came calling.

Steven Gerrard will be looking to improve his side and what better way to do so than signing a player with potential, who could have a long future at the club and start right away…
