Report sheds light on Rangers boardroom after eventful week for Dave King and company

Though the Rangers fans here in the Transfer Tavern are eager to get on with things after the Derek McInnes saga, the manner in which it all unfolded means the punters propping up the bar are going to have to deal with the fiasco for a while now.

Indeed, as our local Light Blues try and get over Derek McInnes’ sensational U-turn, reports from the Herald Scotland have shed some light on the club’s thinking. They claim those behind the scenes are ‘furious’ with the 46-year-old, who reportedly discussed plans for both the January transfer market and next summer, showing just how close he was to moving to Ibrox.

However, an eleventh-hour U-turn kept the Dons chief in the Granite City and the Light Blues aren’t thought to be happy in the slightest. Understandable perhaps, though their statement after McInnes’ snub wasn’t exactly in the best of taste.

As you can imagine, the punters here in the Tavern are keen on forgetting the whole ugly affair.

Landlord’s Verdict:

You can understand why Rangers would feel aggrieved, though they barely covered themselves in glory after the event. What’s important now is that they put it behind them and Dave King gets to work on landing the right man for the club.
