Rangers fans here in the Tavern are praying that Steven Gerrard can ensure silverware and success in the next campaign. Although, this will all depend on whether they can get the best out of one of their many summer signings, Scott Arfield.
The Bluenoses failed to give supporters the results that they craved last season as many of our local residents ended up turning their back on the club. Although, with Steven Gerrard now at the helm and plenty of fresh faces being drafted in, there’s plenty of reasons to be positive.
However, they’ll need to get the best out of their new signing Scott Arfield if they want to achieve silverware next season, as the former English Premier League man will need all the help he can get.
So, Arfield still needs Rangers to land these TWO stars to flourish…
The Burnley striker stagnated behind the scenes in the last campaign as he continues to head towards an inevitable Turf Moor exit.
Rangers could do with welcoming a couple more strikers to the club before the start of next season, and the 28-year-old would be seen as a fantastic buy and could establish himself as a star in Scotland.
Scott Arfield played with the forward during his time at Burnley so he will be very familiar with his style of play, which could come in handy if he’s delivering balls into the box for Nakhi Wells to feed off.
Lassana Coulibaly continues to be linked with a move to Ibrox as Steven Gerrard is looking to shape his squad nicely before the start of next season.
The Malian loves to run with the ball and looks to link defence with attack, which will benefit Arfield’s game massively as he loves to pick the ball up from deep and run at the oppositions’ defence.
