It seems that Rangers manager Steven Gerrard is certainly buying into the narrative that Rangers aren’t given a huge amount of credit from officials. Indeed, the former Liverpool legend has blamed referees for decisions costing his team, with the ‘foul’ on Ryan Jack during the Old Firm the highest profile.
So, imagine the surprise amongst Scottish football fans on Twitter following the SFA’s decision to charge Kilmarnock boss Steve Clarke for his comments on Gary Dicker’s ban. The Killie boss criticised the decision to send his player off during last month’s loss to Hearts, as well as the disciplinary panel for waving off the Ayrshire club’s appeal.
He’s now been charged, angering supporters online. For many, it seems like a certain amount of favouritism and an unwillingness to punish Rangers, a narrative that has run for years in the SPFL.
With that in mind, here’s a look at the reaction amongst supporters online.
After they inept sfa decision yesterday to today’s inept decision to charge steve clarke utterly shambolic tomorrow might be Aberdeen boss it certainly wont be steve gerrard the man can do no wrong sitting in 7th position

How steve clarke has been done for his comments is a joke, but if the shoe was on the other foot and it was gerrard or rodgers getting done killie fans wouldnt be moaning

@ScottishFA You are not even trying to hide your contempt for all other clubs other than Sevco.
Morelos & McGregor spring to mind plus Gerrard’s & Jack’s comments about refereeing yet you fail to exonerate Devlin & Dicker while citing Steve Clarke..
We need change & you out

@ScottishFA have the audacity to charge Steve Clarke, @KilmarnockFC manager over comments made about referee Willie Collum and his performance in sending off a Killie player. like Morelos incident, @ScottishFA have set a precedent by not charging Steven Gerrard for same issues Ha

Extraordinary that the SFA charge Steve Clarke & Kilmarnock over critical comments yet ignore Steven Gerrard's outburst accusing Scottish officials of giving Rangers a raw deal down the years. The SFA's blatant double standards are as plain to see as the McGregorgate whitewash. https://t.co/SrxVwMUhMy
