Rangers fans in the Transfer Tavern have been praising their 22-year-old left-back, Declan John, on being called up to Ryan Giggs’ Wales squad for the 2018 China Cup. The youngster made his loan move to Ibrox a permanent one in January, after initially joining on loan last summer.
The Gers propping our bar up have been loving watching their young left-back bombing up and down the Ibrox touchline. The Welshman has been a key figure at both ends of the pitch for Graeme Murty’s side, chipping in with three goals, three assists and helping to achieve eight clean sheets in his 22 appearances in the Scottish Premier League this season.
John has now been rewarded for his brilliant form in Scotland as his performances haven’t gone unnoticed by the new Wales’ manager, Ryan Giggs. The defender is set to add to his two international caps as Wales face China next Thursday in the China Cup, a win will see them through to the final of the friendly competition where they’ll face either the Czech Republic or Uruguay.
You can read the proud Bluenoses’ reaction to John’s call-up here:
What a difference a year makes my friend.
Regular at Ibrox and having Ryan as the national coach will suit U right down to the ground,
UR there on merit go express yourself and tie that LB slot down also
