The Rangers fans in the Transfer Tavern have been getting their hopes up ahead of the new season. The club has just finished their pre-season training camp in Spain and after being put through their paces by their new gaffer, Steven Gerrard, the fans can’t wait to get the new campaign started. You can read Gerrard’s comments on the season ahead on the Rangers website.
“We have laid it down pretty clearly the standards we are looking for on and off the pitch, the fitness levels have certainly improved, so all-in-all, I am really happy.”
The manager reviews the pre-season trip.

The Gers propping our bar up have enjoyed looking at the pictures from the club’s training camp and it’s been clear from the start that Stevie G has put an emphasis on the squad’s fitness levels. Gerrard will know best on this though, the former England and Liverpool captain won the Champions League, Europa League, FA Cup and League Cup in his playing days so he’ll know what it takes to be successful in professional football.
The club face a huge challenge this season as they look to try and usurp Celtic as the most feared team in Scotland. The last two seasons have seen Brendan Rodgers’ side claim Scottish football’s first-ever double-treble and the Hoops will be hoping they can make it nine trophies in three years this season. Gerrard will have other ideas though and from the way things look, he’s well on his way to having the Ibrox side looking how he wants them to look.

Good interview. I love listening to him. He knows exactly what he wants and that is very important. He has a confidence about himself too.
Very exciting times ahead.

He definitely has a “way” about him. Seems very grounded in his position already. I’m not sure thats exactly how I want to put it but, at least I know what I mean. #Letsgo

Love the “ on and off the pitch “ part . The hallmark of a proper Rangers manager not just the guy who stands at the side of the park
