Rangers

These two Rangers players seriously need to impress Steven Gerrard during pre-season

Steven Gerrard arrives at Rangers with a difficult job on his hands.

Yet another season spent in the shadow of cross-city rivals Celtic, Rangers stuttered to a third place finish in the Scottish Premier League.

In an attempt to get the club to compete with its neighbours again, Steven Gerrard will have a number of Transfer targets on his mind.

The players will need to impress the Liverpool legend, as he is going into the club with an open mind about his squad. Perform in pre-season, and there is a good chance they will find themselves in Gerrard’s first team plans.

With that in mind, here are two players who need to impress Gerrard in pre season…

Josh Windass

Thirteen goals in the SPL last season, but not quite making his mark at Ibrox, Windass must impress in pre-season. An undoubted talent, but his decision making desperately needs to improve.

It is likely that Steven Gerrard will want to bring new forward options to the club, so Windass will have to fight off the competition and show why he deserves his place.

Jordan Rossiter

As a native of Liverpool who began his career with Liverpool FC, Rossiter will want to impress Gerrard, and show him why he deserves a place in his first team plans.

Now 21, Rossiter made just two SPL appearances last time. He needs to start getting game time to improve, and the way to get game time is to show Gerrard what he is about in pre-season.
